Midodrine is used to treat low blood pressure (hypotension). It works by stimulating nerve endings in blood vessels, causing the blood vessels to tighten. As a result, blood pressure is increased.

• Flunarizine is a selective calcium channel blocker. By blocking calcium channels, it stabilises neurons and increases the threshold for migraine activation, thereby preventing excessive firing of nerve cells. It also has antihistamine properties, which inhibit serotonin release, a substance involved in triggering migraines.
• Propranolol is a non-selective beta blocker. It competitively blocks beta-adrenergic receptors, decreasing heart rate, cardiac activity, and output. This reduces the dilation of blood vessels in the brain and modulates pain pathways, helping in managing migraine.
